I have been shaving with this daily since I bought the kit ~2mo ago. The scented soaps are the highlight for me. I really like the rum scent and I can't wait to get to the mountain man sample.

I have somewhat sensitive skin and the soaps did not make me break out, if anything my skin looks better now.

I used to use those cartridge razors and they were alright, got the job done, but costed so freakin much! This product is genuinely amazing. The razorblades are cheap, the starter kit is cheap (almost as much as the gillette refills), and it cuts even better. I will say it takes technique that you will get after the second or third shave at least for me. i love you, i hope you're able to get a good shave. have a good day! MWAH!!! <3

I bought this based on a recommendation and didn't realize that the main ingredient in a lot of the items was beef tallow... now I can't use it. At least say it somewhere on the website instead of having it at the product and that's it.
Also the aftershave is fine but smells strongly and it is nice at first but the 7th time you're using it i don't like it. [I got vanilla sandalwood]
And finally I didn't have a good experience with the razor, it isn't giving me very close shaves and feels like I need to angle it more but I can't.

Some of the sample shaving soaps were a little beat up and in pieces but besides that everything smelled and looked great!

I am really enjoying the soaps and the shave experience I get using the brush. I have been using a Henson se for a while, and now realize I was missing how cathartic and pampering the routine can be. My wife really likes the vanilla sandalwood after shave as well. You folks do a nice job and I look forward to trying many more scents.

The soaps smell amazing! I bought the biggest brush and it is perfect for using on my legs. I'm trying the astra blade first and havent cut myself yet. Everything seems well made.

I inherited my dad's safety razor MANY years ago. I used it for over 30 years but haven't in the 10 yrs or so as it started turning green and no matter what I do to remove remove it, always comes back. Thanks to a friend referring me to Stirling, The starter kit was a great way to get a new razor and try using a brush and soap (only used the canned stuff until now) and the splashes.

I’ve been using an electric razor without any issues but I don’t think I’ll go back. I’ve had better shaves than ever before, the soaps perform smell amazing and are crazy slick, and Rod has been amazing with any questions I’ve had! I’m planning on giving Stirling products as gifts for Christmas this year as I love them that much. Shaving has gone from a joyless activity to something I look forward to. I love the nice scents of the aftershaves throughout the day too. I went with orange chill, Arkadia and vanilla sandalwood soaps, and have come to really enjoy pharaohs dreamsicle, hot apple cider, lime, and glacial lemon chill aftershaves. I’ve also tried SDM, deton-8, haverford, and ozark mountain but they weren’t my kind of scents. 10/10 overall!

This is the first safety razor kit I've ever owned. I have to say it's a great way to get into the shave soaps and the use of the safety razor. I really like that I was able to choose the scents of the shave soaps and the after shave splash. Plus there was a extra sample of the Almond Cream. Very pleased with the quality of all the items included in this kit. I just came back and made a second order before writing this review.

Wow, a guy on Reddit recommended the starter kit to me since I was new to wet shaving. My package was sent the same day I ordered it and the customer service was some of the best I’ve ever seen. Loved all the products the kit came with and especially the electric sheep after shave. 10/10 would recommend stirling soap co as a whole.

I bought the budget kit because I wasn't sure how much I would like wet shaving. I've been using an electric razor for years, but it always caused a lot of skin irritation. I've had bad experiences with disposable and cartridge razors before, so after doing some research, I decided to take the plunge and go with a safety razor. It's made a world of difference for my skin, I don't think I'll ever go back to the electric razor!

I like the variety in this kit, and while it seems small, a little of the soap and aftershave goes a long way. I got the standard "Li'l Brudder" brush, it's very soft and does a great job of building lather. I'm keeping my soap samples in their plastic wrap, separated by waxed paper in the jar. It only takes a dime-sized piece to make a full three passes worth of lather. The scents I picked are Barbershop, Almond Creme, and Eucalyptus Mint, with unscented aftershave - all the soaps smell fantastic.

I purchased a starter kit for my fiancé for our anniversary this month. There was a mix up with my order so I contacted Stirling to see if we could get it fixed. The customer service I received was unmatched. Thank you Stirling for everything! Plus all of the products we received have smelled SO good. We are hooked.

Recently bought one of these myself despite wet shaving with Stirling for 5 years. I wanted to try out a razor and a synthetic brush and this gave me a chance to try them and some new scents at a discount. This has become what I recommend to everyone online who wants to start out in wet shaving (and the few that will listen to me rant about it in the real world). Fantastic value and guaranteed to get you seriously addicted to the Stirling brand.

Very happy with this beginner kit. All of the products are high quality, in fact, better than I expected. The razor works well, the soaps smell and work great and I LOVE the brush (spend the extra $3 and get the upgraded one like I did!) The handwritten note was a nice touch too. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I decided to take a dive into shaving with a safety razor and soaps. I was tired of using a normal razor and cream and ending up with ingrown hairs.

I've given this a try and I'm in love. There's something methodical satisfying about lathering the soap up and shaving. And I absolutely love the soap that came with the kit. It smells unbelievable and my face feels amazing. You can't beat the mom and pop shops!

This kit is fantastic for a beginner and wonderfully priced. The customization options are truly considerate and enjoyable. The razor itself has a nice weight to it and the different blades included are a nice touch so you can experiment with your shave. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in getting started with safety razors since it comes with nearly everything you'd want (I'd consider grabbing an alum bar as well).
