Absolutely beats any safety razor head on the market that are 10X the money.

As others have said, this razor head is a bit more aggressive than average or medium. That is not a bad thing. It gives an excellent, efficient shave. Finishing is very shiny and handsome.

I bought this to replace my Merkur plate on my 38c that was defective and it worked perfectly.

I had been searching for a head to match a nice handle in my collection. I tried a mamba-style head, a double OC (SLOC) style head, and a Muhle. The first two were neither close nor smooth. The Muhle was smooth but far too mild. This head, with a little attention to technique, has provided some of the closest shaves I've ever had, with very little irritation. I've used it 4 days straight... I can't get enough of it! This is amazing value for the dollar.

Since discovering DE razors, I've tried many major brand names (Merker, Muehle, Edwin Jagger, Parker's, etc.) plus a lot of the smaller ones, and some of the cheap versions like Bailie. This razor head is my absolute favorite. In fact, I now use them with handles from other razor manufacturers--WCS, for example, has some handle styles that I really like, but the Stirling razor heads just do a better job, so I get only handles from WCS and use Stirling heads on them anymore (Stirling's handles are great too, but I'm a variety kind of person and they only have a few, though I do use them often).

As some have mentioned, it may be a bit aggressive for a beginner--one of the Bailie's might be best for them, since they are non-aggressive and cheap. But once you get the hang of it, you just can't beat these. They give an excellent close shave but are less likely to nick you than any other brand that can give a worthwhile shave. And, being Stirling, they are offering a superior product at a much cheaper price than their competitors, so you really can't go wrong here. Stay away from the expensive international brands that don't give as good of a shave anyways. Seriously, I assumed their price and reputation meant they were somehow better, but that was not the case at all. Stirling has them beat on every count.

My new daily driver. This is the perfect DE razor head! The other reviews call it aggressive. I place it halfway between 34c and r41. I’d say the blade gap is the same as the parker which was my brand for years. The plating on the Stirling head is of better quality and a third of the price.

Like other reviews, it is way more aggressive than I thought it would be as a standard razor head. Just 1 shave, but my face feels great. Clean and smooth. I'll give it another couple weeks to see if it compares to my 34C, but so far I like it

This head is way more aggressive than my 34c. Much less forgiving, easy to knick yourself and I probably wouldn't recommend this head for a first time wet-shaver. I have not been able to shave with no irritation yet; I'm sure part of it is technique, but for a standard head I was expecting more forgiveness--I have no problems with the merkur, but I have been shaving with this Stirling razor for the past week to try and work out user-error kinks. Can't say I look forward to shaving with this piece, yet. It kinda scares me.

It looks gorgeous, though, and maybe a more practiced hand would have better luck.

I wonder if I accidentally received an aggressive head.

The head that I received is significantly more aggressive than my Merkur 47C. It is far less forgiving and seems to be as aggressive as my Gillette adjustable cranked up to 7 or 8.

That said, the fit, finish and plating are very good and it fits the handle of my Merkur 47C perfectly.

I have a somewhat dense beard with medium to medium light diameter whiskers. I would rate my skin sensitivity as average.

I can't help but wonder if I possibly/accidently received a mis-labled aggressive unit. (?)
