I now join the cult

It seems that the many reviews say everything that I could. To give my credentials, I have been a wet shaver for about 60 years, preferring creams over soaps. Stirling soaps did not really do it for me until Rod gave me a recommendation for Sheep. I tried it and I am hooked! As good as any of the creams I have used and, by far, the best of any soap.

Amazing. Just what I was looking for.

Great lather. Soft but not too soft. Tons of glide and cushion. Washes clean. Zero scent. Zero sheepiness. Great price. Great service. Absolutely perfect. (I tried all three of the Sterling unscented shave soaps and they're all wonderful)

Another Great Shave

I love the slickness of this soap, like all the other Stirling soaps I've tried. I don't find the sent offensive and my skin likes the soap.

Testing out some different unscented bases for superlathering. This one whips up fast and delightfully dense. Its looking like my go to!

Got a sample from the shop - Excellent

This shaving soap is terrific. I used two pieces the size of green peas and it generated the most luxurious lather. This is very good soap and leaves your skin and face smooth, and as soft as a school mom’s thighs. You won’t go wrong or be disappointed with this product.
As for any gamey scent, I detected none.

Finally - this is my shave soap

I think it is worth noting that I have very sensitive skin and I have spent the better part of the past 18 months figuring out the right combination of shaving techniques and products that work best for my skin and my grooming patterns. Aside from learning the best techniques for wet shaving, there are so many variables that can affect the quality of the shave.

I gravitate toward Stirling Soap for its quality products, quality service and competitive pricing. I have found a good level of trust in the company and its products. So, the only question was which Stirling shaving soap should I use. After many attempts at different Stirling product lines, I rely on Sheep to give me a close shave and to minimize the risks of irritation.

The scent of a shaving soap gets a lot of attention, and I appreciate that aspect of the shaving experience. I also tried many different scents from Stirling, but have found that how the soap makes my skin feel is my highest priority. Sheep soap gives my skin the best shaving performance. I rely on Stirling's solid cologne products give me all the scent I need.

So, after testing the seemingly countless variables that affect the daily shave, my trusted shave soap is Stirling's Sheep.

WOW!

I found this soap searching for a replacement for the now retired Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap. I would marry that stuff but they have sadly closed. But I must say the this soap I like potentially more. I have only used it a time or two but so far it seems as if it is maybe.even better than MWF. One thing I definitely do like more is this soap is unscented where MWF was only mildly scented. Plus, it is made in the USA which is a big plus for me. Whatever the case I have a new go to and will DEFINITELY be buying more. Thank you for a great product, fast shipping and great customer service!

Very good soap; will buy again!

Lathers well, cushions well, and leaves my face feeling soft after shaving. Will buy again. Would recommend.

The Best Shave Soap I have used to date

I have been wet shaving for at least 10 years now and I've tried many different soaps, but many of them were lousy or just pretty good. I finally tried some samples from Stirling after so long and hearing such good reviews and the Sheep soap blew me away. Mutton tallow and unscented it turns out are the secret ingredients for a great shave soap for me. So thick, rich, protective and slick, little to no irritation and cuts afterwards. With my slant head razor, I'm getting the best shaves I have ever had. The scent is a little gamey but it's not bad at all.

Wonderful Surprise

To be honest, I purchased this based on the clever and whimsical name. Imagine then my delight to find this is a fabulous shave soap. The scent is fresh and manly, but not overly musk. My wife gives it two thumbs up, so I'm a happy guy. As with all Stirling soaps, the lather is super luxurious, long-lasting, and slick. This one gives me even a better shave somehow than Stirling Sheep, and I didn't think that was even possible. Thanks for the early Christmas surprise, and I hope this comes back year after year!!!!

Simply Superb

This is the standard against which all other soaps should be judged. The sheep tallow is especially nourishing to my skin. After shaving, it feels as though I have just been treated to a luxurious facial treatment... leaving my face smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom and just as supple. It lathers perfectly slick and smooth, and is long lasting on the face. It has, to my nose, almost no residual scent. That allows me to select any after-shave or EDC without competing against another fragrance.

Sheep - Shave Soap

In my own very humble opinion, the greatest shave soap ever produced.

The best!

I used to use Mitchells Wool fat shave soap and was sad when they went out of business last year. Thankfully, I got a tip from Badger And Blade (DE shaving site) to try Sterling Sheep and I must say it is better than MWF! great slick lather. My go to now.

Great Stuff!

Personally I'm not as concerned about the form as I am about the function so I like the fact that this Sheep Shave Soap is unscented. I've been using Stirling shaving soaps for years and have found them to be about the best available. The quality of their ingredients is above and beyond that of other soap makers allowing me to have a great shave every time that leaves my skin soft and smooth. This Sheep Shave Soap seems to be creamier than others I've used before. It's a great product. I believe that I've now been officially converted to a 'sheep soap shaver'!

MWF replacement

Was looking for a MWF replacement. While the scent is different, this soap exceeded expectations. Excellent lather and protection. I'll miss MWF and question the move by Mitchell's to reformulate a timeless product, but appreciate that Stirling as filled a void.

It's the closest to...

the beloved and late Mitchell's Wool Fat shave soap that I can find.
I bought it because I thought it might contain more Tallow and Lanolin than Sterling's other flavors, but haven't verified that it does. All in all, high quality for shaving.

Excellent lather, perfect glide

Like many others, wish I had found this years ago - great product. Provides a perfect surface for shaving, I use an aggressive razor/blade combo (BL Vector OC w Feather Pro), requires a top notch soap and this is perfect.

Wow, amazing!

Great product, amazing lather, gentle on my sensitive skin. There isn't any smell to this product, and it leaves my skin very smooth and protected. I will be buying from this company again, quality product.

A month in, awesome

After a month of use, this shaving soap is terrific. In combination with the Coniferous pre-shave, I'm getting baby butt smooth shaves. Even the sixth day on a a blade. Highly recommended!

1 ounce sample and then the tub

The first shave with Sheep was very enjoyable. The rich lather was slick and provided residual glide for blade buffing. The natural scent of the mutton base was fine, it did not offend me. You're left with a luxuriously smooth feeling face. After the shave I went to order up a full size tub.

I shave my head with this and it has been the most comfortable soap I have ever used.

Great later, great face feel after

A great value, but more than that, a great soap regardless of what you are paying. Outperforms soaps twice the price. Makes a slick, protective lather.

Fantastic

The “Sheep” shave soap from Stirling provides a comfortable moisturizing shave. The soap has a slick protective barrier from the sharpest feather blades and left my skin moisturized My new go to.

This product provides an amazing lather, performance and protection. The post shave feel is fabulous. There is no off putting scent from my perspective. Really enjoy using it. Thank you Stirling once again.

SHEEP shave soap

I've been using this for about 2 weeks exclusively and loving it. No scent to me, but slick and protective. This Stirling product is my #1 shave soap. Just get it!

Best shave ever

Wow. This is easily the smoothest shave with the best post-shave feel I've had with any soap, and I've tried several others, including many from Stirling. There is a very slight mutton-y scent, but it's extremely mild and it doesn't linger or distract from the shave experience. Aside from Electric Sheep, I wouldn't mind seeing this base paired with some other scents (Barber-sheep, anyone?)
