Scent Description: Made with a fragrance blend meant to capture the essence of a cool, autumn drive through the Ozark Mountains, this natural, handmade soap also adds the moisturizing qualities of Almond Oil. The same scent as found in our Ozark Mountain shave soap with a nod to the use of lard in place of beef tallow.

Ingredients: Lard, RSPO (Sustainable) Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Distilled Water, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance Oil, Sodium Lactate

Bar Size: 5.5oz

Storage: Please store unopened soaps in a location that is cool, clean, and dry. This will help them last longer. Once a bar is in use, store it in a dish with slats, wire rack, or any soap dish prevents water from pooling underneath the soap. There are no chemical hardeners in the soap, nor are they milled soaps. Leaving them sitting in water will cause them to turn soft and greatly reduce the overall life of the soap.

Customers praised this lard-based bath soap for its unique, fresh pine/woodsy scent that "fills the bathroom" and lingers pleasantly. Many called it their favorite, noting excellent lather, moisturizing properties, and relief from dry skin. A few found the scent too strong or pine-forward, with some wishing for a stronger name than "Pig Trail."

So far I think this is my favorite of the Stirling scents I have tried! Smell is so fresh and lasts a good while too! All of Stirling's products are fantastic, can't really go wrong with anything you get from them.

My Hands Feel Better Than They Have in Years!

I have been having issues with dry, cracking hands for years. Every time I found something that I could live with, it was first expensive, and then discontinued. Each time it got harder to find something new, because I was running out of things to try.

It happened again, and I decided I might as well try Stirling Soap. I have never used a bar that didn't make my hand issues worse, so I didn't have a lot of hope, even though I have been loving Stirling Soaps in the shower since I found them months ago. But I don't have the extreme issues with showering as I do with hand washing. I thought it would be gentle enough for the shower but not for my hands.

I am so glad I tried! I can't believe what a difference it has made. My hands are doing more than surviving now. They feel good! I can't remember the last time they felt good!

I am also so happy to have one soap I can use multiple ways. The simplicity is a relief. And it isn't just one special expensive formula that might be discontinued! It's just Stirling Soap!

This scent gets 5 stars because when I put it in the kitchen for my own use, my son, who can get away with using whatever soap-alternative he wants, immediately switched to using it exclusively because "It smells so good!"

I am another customer for life.

An Unsuspecting Winner

I didn't know what to think about this one when I ordered, given the name and all. I will tell you that I've tried around a dozen different bars to this point and this is the big winner. The fragrance is unique and it lingers. When you walk back in the bathroom a few hours later, it'll still be there. So good. I'm writing this review as I am ordering another bar of it. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

AWESOME SCENT

This came as part of my "Bath Soap - Subscription Box". The name probably puts people off from buying it (smart move changing the other products names to Ozark Mountain), but it was easily the number 1 scent out of this month's selection. Strongly recommend trying it, as it is almost a perfect scent. I have only tried two of the scents delivered this month (November 2025):
1. Ozark Mountain (the best scent out of the box)
2. Bourbon Pumpkin (I will not buy again - others said it smelled like play doh, which i agree with)

Pig trail soap is so good

Its said that pigs are more intelligent than dogs and I like pigs but I like ham too but wouldn’t ever think of eating a dog so how can I eat a pig? Well I don't know but this soap isn’t about these deep philosophical questions. Even though its the same color as a pig, Its a very good smelling soap that lathers great and I like it very much. Would definitely buy it again.

Pig Trail-it's the BEST!

Everyone in my family loves Pig Trail and we will continue to buy and use. Hopefully it doesn't get discontinued ever!

Skin feels great with this soap

High quality is consistent with all Stirling soaps. The scent is as described, and mild in my opinion. My skin feels great after using, and I would try more soaps using lard if ever offered.

Good, not too heavy scent

I definitely like this scent. It has light reminders of being in the woods of Arkansas. As a comparison, so far this and Deep Blue Sea are my favorites

A bit heartbroken

So I nosed this bar out of the box and thought, eh. However, I know how Stirling Soaps can be, so I put it in the shower. Once the warm water hit it, I felt it was a bit strong, overpowering a tad. The whole bathroom was bursting with this scent. And I wasn't to sure about it.
And the I dried off.....and OMG. When I opened the bathroom door the oder was just intoxicating!! Each day I used it, the more I began to pick up all the scents within this soap, and again OMG. I am a bit heartbroken I only grabbed 1 bar on this order! And this one has last much longer than the beef tallow bar's. It is definitely my new go to bar of soap!!! Next order, Pig Trail. Lot's of it! The BEST so far!
Please keep this bar in stock! It may not sound like a bar you want to try, but 100% buy it. Give it a chance you won't be disappointed. The girlfriend loves this scent. She says our bed has never smelled so good. And it leaves my skin feeling smooth, not greasy and not dry. I love this stuff.

I given 5 star because this soap is the real definition of have exactly what the name of the soap is . But not my kind of soap. It's a gimmick one perfect for troll and jokes or if you like is good

Really just kinda gross. Overly musky and weird.

I was not a fan of this one. Almost smells like a cleaning agent. I like a lot of their scents, but this one just wasn't for me.

Still Just as Good.

I first purchased Pig Trail in 2015, and it is just as good as I remember it. The scent is amazing, and the soap itself has done wonders for my skin just as every other soap from Stirling has.

Fills up the bathroom...in a good way!

Love this scent. It's strong and fills up our bathroom after using it in the shower. This is a wonderful spicy pine scent that brings me christmas memories.

Wow! Incredible Soap!

I received a small bar of this as a gift from Stirling. It is out of this world! I saw the name and I said to myself: what the heck this should be interesting. Then I tried it. Wow just incredible! I just went and ordered two bars. I highly recommend this soap: try it; just fantastic! And I’m sure any soap Stirling makes will be just as great! Best soap, best shave soap! Thank you Stirling people!

Works well

I'm not sure what the Ozarks smell like but this soap smells like clove to me or a scent similar. As always the soaps feel nice but I dont think I'd get this one again

It ain't the ozarks

Its a Stirling soap, so it lathers and cleans perfectly. But...

You ever been to the Ozarks? It has pine. And oak. And a half dozen other trees. And earth...you know, dirt. Based on the description, I was expecting a pine forward scent with attributes of other aromas from the area. Nope. You want an accurate description of this scent? Here ya go:

Walk into a Yankee Candle store in December. Yank the top off a balsam fir candle. Or any standard "christmas tree" candle. Take a deep sniff. That is *exactly* the way this bar of soap smells. And if it were December, and if this were billed as a Christmas Tree soap, then I'd be all about it. But this is far from the "essence of a cool, autumn drive through the Ozark Mountains."

A Top Pick!

One of my Top 3 Picks so far! Great smelling!

My go-to soap

This is my go-to soap after having fallen in love with the Ozark Mountain Shave Soap. I wish they would have named it Ozark Mountain because I didn't realize this was the same scent and went over a year without realizing a bath soap existed- I received it as a sample with my shave soap and the light bulb went off when I recognized the scent. The soap performs very well and while I am prone to dry skin and this soap has been a game changer for me. I do wish that the scent was stronger, but I am very happy with this product and will be a happy consumer for years to come.

Not too strongly scented

I've tried a couple of Stirling's bar soap products and Pig Trail was the only one I felt wasn't over-scented. It left a hint of fragrance close in on my skin for a few hours after showering rather than an overpowering fragrance like the other bars did.

The scent is spicy, fruity, and woodsy. I got this as a free sample and I enjoy it for that, but I don't think I'd pick up this scent again (just out of personal preference).

I still can't figure out why Stirling would name this bar "Pig Trail." I get that it is made with lard rather than tallow but the name is pretty disgusting to tell the truth. I never would have bought this soap of my own accord due to its name. "Ozark Mountain" would have been a much better and more fitting name to match their shaving soap with the same/similar fragrance.

However, I do think the lard in this bar makes it a little bit harder/firmer than Stirling's tallow bath bars. It also seems to be lasting longer in the shower versus their really soft tallow bars.

I'd certainly buy other lard-based soap bars from Stirling, but I don't like the fragrance on this one enough to buy it.

Best body soap I've tried

I bought Pig's Trail along with two sample shave soaps and four sample aftershaves.

So far this is the best product of them all. It instantly wants to lather and it is extremely slick. I found a little goes a long way. Keep it out of direct spray from the shower and just lightly rub your loofa/washcloth on it when it is wet. Tried just using the bar by itself and it seemed like I was wasting it.

I also got a sample of Arkadia for free.

This will now be my go to soap.

Grey Hair Solution !!

All previous reviews sold me, but what caught my attention that made me try it was the lard vs tallow, I thought it rinsed off much easier and left skin very smooth. By coincidence i used it to wash my hair, I have had Grey hair for 20* yrs , totally hard to work with ,i have tried every type of conditioner possible , oil treatments etc nothing worked

best scent

I’ve tried every soap that they offer, none are bad IMO but this is the best of them all. I can’t get enough. Wish they had an aftershave or cologne of this!

Might be why Pork is so GOOD!

I have lived in the south my whole life and never smelled a pig trail like this. Very nice soap with many notes of natures scents, and all of them good.

I pick up floral in a very subtle way. Like others have said, a great pine scent .....but in a good way.

Very masculine and pleasing.

The best bath soap

This stuff is hands down one of the best scents I've ever smelled. It fills the bathroom with the scent too, which is awesome.

I'm about to stock up on some more bars of this stuff because I NEVER want to run out!
