I love both the Unscented and Menthol versions of the pre-shave soap. They are my go-to pre shaves

This is a great pre-shave soap. I lather it up on my face, apply my favorite Stirling soap lather on top of it, and experience a lovely shave experience. Traces of it remain throughout subsequent passes and it definitely adds another layer of slickness to the lather which helps a-lot in reducing, if not outright eliminating irritation.

Pretty good pre shave soap, but I was expecting an ice bath of sorts! Still going to use it every shave though!

I have been using a different cream-based pre-shave for years. I thought it was fine and worked as it should. Once I ran out, I was in the mood to try something new and different. I have been very pleased with Stirling shave soap. So, I ordered their mentholated pre-shave soap. After the very first shave, I knew I’d found the missing piece to my shave routine I didn’t even know I was missing. The shave was so close and smooth. The menthol was the perfect amount; just enough to give a slight aroma and the clean feeling that menthol provides. No burn at all. I highly recommend this pre-shave soap and will be ordering from now on.

I'm new to wet shaving. With a few minor 'learning experience' shaves I quickly came to the conclusion that I needed to raise my pre-shave preparation. I wanted to do this without adding too much time (no hot towel for 15 min...). This Mentholated Pre-shave soap is exactly what I was hoping for. It feels great, does the job of prepping my skin, and (since I don't rinse it all away before lathering) eases the blade across my face. I highly recommend this for anyone as part of their shaving routine.

I have tried pre-shave oils & soaps in the past. Not one of them comes close to Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap. Take a look at the ingredients, you can pronounce every ingredient, and know what that ingredient is!!!
The soap produces a slick layer that helps soften my "Barbed-Wire" Beard. I cannot for the life of me imagine shaving without this Pre-Shave soap.

I always use a pre shave soap . This is the first bar type that I ever used and must say it’s great.

Depreciate soap is super slick and cleans your face and readys it for shave. I lather it in nicely and leave it on my face when I lather with my brush. It leaves you with a smooth comfortable cool shave that other pre-shaves just don't do. The soap like all of your other products knock it out of the park!

When I use menthol, I don't want my eyes to water, and this one is perfect. Just enough of a tingle applied before I lather, to add a bit of cooling freshness to any of my non-mentholated shaving soaps.

The best preshave soap out there. This helps so much with shave irritation and reducing any knicks, ingrown hairs, or red bumps when your done shaving.

When I bought Stirling Sheep Shave Soap, I also added Mentholated - Pre-Shave Soap, since it seemed to be an excellent addition for wonderful wet shaving experience.

As soon as I applied it to my face, my face started to being icy and refreshing with a scent of menthol. It helped me to shave unnecessary parts when I trim my beard without tugging and becoming dry. I'll definitely use this majestic pre shave soap when I trim my beard 😄.

After using another artisans pre shave booster, I was interested in testing out Stirling's version of their own. I was not let down!! I usually shower to prep my whiskers for a shave, but this was able to soften my hairs just as well without needing that hot shower beforehand. Even if you're not a fan of pre-shave cleansers/boosters, this could be used as a pretty premium face wash. Never let down by a Stirling product!

For my first order from Stirling I included this product with my order. This bar is huge and it takes very little product to create a very rich, slick and cooling pre-shave lather. This product will not disappoint and it can also be used just as a face wash. The menthol is just the right intensity, just enough cooling for a very refreshing shave.

I actually haven't used this yet pre-shave, but I have been using it as a facial cleanser at night before putting on moisturizer, etc. and it is a great face wash. I'm turning into a menthol-head and that menthol cooling is awesome before bed. It is not quite as freezing as I was expecting -- which may have to do with using some of the glacial shave soap recently -- but it is still great. Also, I barely have to rub it in my hands to create enough lather to wash my face, so I imagine this bar will last quite a long time; I could easily see over a year.

I don’t grow a lot of facial hair but have to shave daily for the military. I used to dry shave in my car in the parking lot before walking into work. I use this soap daily to shave with and leaves my face super smooth and refreshed. There is very little smell but a ton of cooling and is a big wake up in the morning and makes my 0430 drive into work easier.

I grabbed this just to see if it helped like the reviews claimed and wow it's immediately apparent how much of a difference the soap makes.
In combination with the badger brush I just grabbed, shaving has never been a smoother experience.

Leave it to Rod and Mandy because only they can create something so awesome. This product is much better than any other pre-shave product I've used or any other facial wash such as L'Oreal or Neutrogena. This pre-shave soap is unscented, it feels so moisturizing and slick with a nice cooling sensation which is so invigorating. I leave it on my face for a few minutes before I rinse it off and it improves the quality of my lather. Great stuff!

I ordered this through a re-seller because there where closer to where I live, this pre shave was absolutely fantastic. i wet my face , rubbed the bar into my 4 days stubble and massaged it a bit, rinsed and then rubbed it into my beard again and left it. I then face lathered with naked and smooth, this is the smooth shave i have ever gotten, I'm still blown away how this preshave soap has contributed enormously. At one point everything was slipping out of my hand. I will be loading up on many of this pre shave soap. Thank you for a fantastic product. It truly is in my case. Then splashed on some Faberge brut (silver medallion).

I Havr to have this soap before I shave I cleans and stimulates my skin with a cool scent. It adds a comfort to shaving with a double edged razor. Thank you stirling soap don't ever change. Customer for life.

Started using this before I shave and it really makes a world of difference. Your beard will be much softer and you'll have a much better shave. I like to pair this with a strong smelling soap that is mentholated to wake me up in the morning!

I can't believe how much easier my shaves are now because I have a very tough beard and although I've been using various good-quality facial washes like Neutrogena and L'Oreal Men Expert they still don't do quite the same job of cleaning and softening my stubble. I love how this soap leaves my skin feeling spotlessly-clean and how it gives a nice cooling sensation (I'm such a menthol freak!) which is really invigorating. There's no scent to this soap so it won't spoil the scent of anything you lather up with or apply after you shave. I also find that this pre-shave soap helps to improve the blade glide because of the extra slickness, as Darren stated. Rod and Mandy, this product gets two thumbs-up from me!

I used to think that pre-shave products were a waste of money. But, after I starting using a shavette, I realized I needed a little more slickness on my face. I gave this soap a try and noticed that it improved my shave with added slickness and protection. I also enjoyed putting a mentholated background to all my shaving soaps.

Nope, no longer using oils. Best pre shave soap i have used so far. Softened the beard, and had the perfect amount of menthol! Just enough to make my face cool and refreshed for my entire shave. Cut the bar into two pieces to make it last longer. Great product.

Hello, I'm Frank from the Netherlands and these are my thoughts on this soap.
My skin is irritated very fast, so I tried a lot of different pre shave products and came to the conclusion that they did not bring me significant better results regarding the quality of the shave and/or a reduction of skin irritation. I hesitated to purchase this soap but I'm very glad I did. The quality of my shaves are better and my face feels much less irritated. I love a blast of menthol in my after shave splash but not in a regular face soap. In this soap the balance is perfect. I'm not using it as pre shave soap only, its the soap I use exclusive for washing my face now. My face feels much smoother since I've started using this soap.
