Nice scent, lathers well and provides good slickness.

This is a warmer scent, which is what I'm looking for. I like the menthol scents, but wanted to alternate it. This is one that is perfect for that (I would like advice on what else would be). But back to black cherry. Reminds me of a black cherry snow cone. Strong enough that it does not fade. Of course, the performance is typical Stirling.....great. But this is a sample puck that I will always continue to purchase to keep on hand.

I love the Sterling Shave soaps. Amazing soap at an amazing price.

This smells just like a black cherry that you would purchase at the grocery store. It kinda reminds me of Almond Creme but without the slight nuttiness and warmth. This is the first time I have ever smelled a shave soap that has the exact same scent as a fruit. Well done!

When first smelling the soap, it smells very similar to a cherry cough syrup, which had me worried at first. As soon as the water hits it and you start building a lather, it explodes with complexity. Of course it has a very natural black cherry sent up front, but also has some notes of cinnamon (and maybe a little clove) underneath. Its a very spicy and sweet cherry sent and one of my favorites for shave soap. Its not overpowering and won't clash with your splash if you use a different scent.

Smells very nice. Now the Sweet Pecan is absolutely horrible. Removed one star for the Sweet pecan.

This scent reminds me of a red-hot hard candy - glazed with warm vanilla and "cherry-ness.' I'm sure it likely doesn't taste that way, but one can dream. Its fresh, sweet, warm, and simply perfect! I can imagine a female simply eating a man up for wearing this... Once again, Stirling has raised the bar on a classic scent! Way to go Sterling!

The scent reminds me of cherry Starburst candy! And like all my Sterling soaps, the lather and performance is phenomenal! Good job Rod and Mandy! Keep up the good work!!

Very pleased with these three items - they smell great! The shave soap is smooth and easy to apply; provides a close, clean shave. The body soap lathers quickly. Try them - you won't be disappointed.

Love this Black Cherry scent. The wife says it smells yummy....Definite for a date night touch up shave.

This black cherry scent pairs up with other pipe tobacco aftershaves that I use. Just like your other shave soaps, they lather up like cool whip! Great product!

This shave soap is strong it smells good when I first got it and smelled it, it smelled just like a cherry flavored tootsie pop! I love this scent I highly recommend buying it if you’re thinking about getting this scent.

Wonderful cherry scent that takes me back to being a kid around the holidays and smelling the cherry tobacco in our local stores. No tobacco scent,but brings back memories of my youth. Just a absolutely wonderful scent. Rod and Mandy at Stirling have a absolute gem with this scent and it's in my rotation for good. I personally like this More than sharp dressed man currently as it's still growing on me,but again,you cannot go wrong with this one.

The soap is the same smooth amazing quality as all the others, so this review is more for the scent.

Smells exactly as advertised and it's a very pleasant scent. I'd say leans more cherry and less black, but I like it. Also I'd say it's pretty low profile, which may be what you want in a food-based scent. It's a low radius and doesn't hang around. Smells nice and sweet while shaving and then it's gone, so it's perfect to follow up with other scents or products.

The scent of of this soap is very realistic to black cherry and is not at all sweetened to a candy like flavor. I can praise the scent and to anyone who likes black cherry highly recommend it however personally I found it not as appealing as I would have liked but that has nothing to do with it not having a true and realistic scent and everything to do with me just not appreciating that scent for shaving with. I won't dock it any points for my preferences and it has the normal Stirling high quality, but I can safely say it won't be included in any of my favorites henceforth but could easily be one of yours. I am more partial to the citrus scents.

I’ve bought several ‘artisan’ soaps over the last few years and end up giving most of them away as they’ve either not very good, or the over complicated scent is just silly. I now buy samples first so I don’t make expensive mistakes. Well, this Stirling Black Cherry is one that I WILL be buying. Excellent scent (very subtle and not overpowering nor artificial-smelling) and a superb lather. Creamy, slick, moisturising and soft. This is highly recommended and I’ll definitely be buying some other Stirling soaps.

An enjoyable shave with a great subtle black cherry smell. It is not overly sweet nor so bold that it is overpowering. Smooth shave as expected from any of the Stirling soaps.

When it first arrived, just smelling the puck, the cherry smelled a little overwhelming (and kinda fake)... but as soon as I lathered it up and put it on my face, it mellowed out and smelled great. Just goes to show you can't judge soap soles by their first impression sometimes. Haha

Makes for a really nice, slick shave.

This is the first Stirling soap that I bought and it's awesome. I like how cherries smell so decided to give this soap a shot. As soon as I opened the container upon getting it in the mail I loved the delicious scent. I was amazed at how thick the lather was after making the lather. Once I learned to add more water to the lather the shaving experience was amazing and very slick. It got to the point where my razor was slipping out of my hand while shaving. I've heard other reviewers saying that Black Cherry smelled like Cherry Starbust and that's right on the money. Black Cherry was definitely a great introduction to Stirling Soaps for me.

Not sure what the other customers had in their version of the soap but the moment I removed the lid I got a strong wiff of something that caused dread in my childhood whenever I had a persistent cough. Cherry flavoured cough syrup. Even though I hated the smell, I was determined to shave with this soap. The soap lathered up in no time and was really thick but there was no slickness during the shave. Generally I just do one pass with cleanup but I decided to do two passes and there still was nothing in the slickness of the soap. I'm not sure if I received a dodgy puck that had a couple of ingredients missing but I will not be using this again.
