My initial purchase of Stirling Soap’s “Barber Shop” ssent was the first Stirling product I used.This was followed by more Stirling products.This is a soap and not a cream so I treat this like many of my soap pucks and use Boar shaving brushes, my choice.
Stirling soap refill pucks is what I prefer as they fit properly in the Stirling proprietary apothecary style ceramic mug leaving more room for loading up the brush.These soap are definite keepers!
The Barber Shop smell has a slight lingering scent lasting most of the day.. I like many different makes of tallow soaps such as Mitchell’s and Dr. Selby which I have used for many years. The soap pucks last very long and are more affordable compared to the European imports .My next endeavor is Stirling’s “Haverford” which is another high quality product.

Im a big fan of Stirling soaps, BUT this is my personal favorite. The soap lathers up creamy and slick, makes for a terrific shave. The smell is as comforting as a warm blanket.
But i shake it all up with the glacial version of the splash.

I have been a regular wet shaver since 1960 and I really like this shave soap. It lathers easily, one loaded brushful is enough for 2 0r 3 passes if I choose. The scent is great and the razor glides on my skin, no irritation. Rod and Mandy have developed a great product that is worth trying.

Lathers easily, provides a slick cushion, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized after shaving. Nice powdery, vanilla scent that is reminiscent of the fragrances of some of the classic shaving foams.

I have exceptionally sensitive skin with some skin allergies and I didn’t notice when sampling because I was just learning to shave with a safety razor but I can confirm this one irritates my skin. Really a shame because it’s a great scent, I’d still recommend a sample. I have a great rotation of other stirling soaps.

The smell is fresh and powdery with a hint of vanilla and leather (almost a light tobacco note). I can see why it’s so popular. Also my face is left glistening and moisturized. Awesome products from Stirling. Feels impossible to go with another brand. Hooked!

I grew up with an Old Spice mug, soap & brush. I really like the Stirling Spice shaving puck. It’s an Old Spice recreation! I also like the tallow & lanolin ingredients. Nice job!

A Barbershop scent that lingers and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft. This soap lathers well for me, and even after a shaving pass, yiur skin is still wet enough for a XTG or ATG pass. Give it a try!

For some reason the refill puck is too small for the original container. I expected it to be the same size.

Great soap! Slick and does the trick!

Is it a perfect soap? No. But it's the best value for your money. Whips up a great lather, provides cushion and slickness (though it's quite deficient in residual slickness). Scent is powdery and sweet. A wonderful scent.

I bought the sample and after two shaves I immediately purchased a full size. The sample size is very generous and will last for many shaves. This would be good for travel or someone just wanting to get an idea if they want to buy more.

I bought a sample of this soap back in March, about 9 months ago and have been out of it for about a month now so the 1st sample lasted me about 8 months. I figured it was about time I purchase some more of this since Barbershop and Haverford are my favorites.

Slight irritation on my skin. I still managed to use the entire puck. The scent is definitely more old school, but not strong. Don't think I'll purchase a second time. I would recommend this to someone advanced in age.

This is one of my favorite shave soap scents. This scent smells exactly like an old barber shop from the 1960s. This scent is what shaving is all about. Try it, you will love it.

I like the scent, as it is quite nostalgic for those of us who remember vintage barber shops. And it whips up a fine lather. But I'm concerned about the stinging others have mentioned, on the one hand, and Stirling's lack of transparency about the scents involved. Why just say "fragrance oils", which is essentially nondescript, when they are much more forthcoming about the precise scents used in other varieties of their shave soaps. I think this is unfair when so many people are complaining about stinging.

So I have several Stirling products. They are one of my favorite soap makers. The quality of their products is always excellent. Barbershop is in general one of my favorite scents. Stirling Barbershop is my all time favorite Barbershop scent. It is an excellent lather, their customer service is out of this world. I also have the aftershave and balm. I will be buying the EDT.
